Muskegon Main Street is a 501(c)3 organization designed to strategically organize people and interests that collaborate to bring about commercial revitalization through Historic Preservation and Economic Development. Muskegon Main Street follows the Main Street model pioneered by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, one of the most successful economic development programs in the nation averaging over $35 of reinvestment for every $1 used to operate the local Main Street program. The Main Street Model entails a four point approach to revitalization and the tasks of each committee are outlined in the yearly work plan.

Design
Enhancing the physical appearance of the commercial district by rehabilitating historic buildings, encouraging supportive new construction, developing sensitive design management systems, and long-term planning. The committee also oversees a facade grant program and a design services initiative. Click here to learn more about the Design Committee and our incentive programs.

Organization
Building consensus and cooperation among the many groups and individuals who have a role in the revitalization process. Click here to learn more about the Organization Committee.

Marketing/Promotion
Marketing the traditional commercial district's assets to customers, potential investors, new businesses, local citizens and visitors. Click here to learn more about the Marketing/Promotion Committee.

Economic Restructuring
