Spring Cleanup - May 19, 2006

With a summerlong project underway to "green up" the former Muskegon Mall site, Muskegon Main Street decided to jump on the bandwagon and lend a helping hand with this year's Spring cleanup. Over 90 people showed up on beautiful, clear (but cold!) May day to help plant dune grass, set up snow fence, and replace displaced sand. G & L and Plumb's Valu-Rite provided a tasty lunch refreshing the volunteers to continue their work through the early afternoon. By the end of day, much of the site was beautified and protected from the blowing wind by dune grass lining the edges of the sandy lots.
