Muskegon is a hockey town. Over the years many pro teams have laced up downtown Muskegon, but few have been as successful as the Muskegon Fury. Winners of back to back UHL championships the Fury pack the L.C. Walker arena with their "Rock'em Sock'em" style of hockey.

The latest addition to sports downtown Muskegon is the expansion Muskegon Thunder of the GLIFL. The Thunder will open their inaugural season at L.C. Walker in April 2007.
