Muskegon Lumberjacks
From the Zephyrs, Mohawks, Fury and Lumberjacks, Muskegon is a hockey town rich in hockey tradition. At the end of the 2009-2010 season pro hockey in Muskegon officially ended. New and beginning in the 2010-2011 season the Muskegon Lumberjacks will become part of the United States Hockey League. The USHL focuses on sending players to college; emphasizing education and helping players earn scholarships to places like Harvard, the University of New Hampshire, Boston College, Michigan, and Michigan State. The USHL stresses a road to the NHL by way of a college education.
